Welcome to San Diego Mother Council 1349 Online!

Defend Our Faith & Church

The Knights of Columbus Order is not a political organization, but when matters of religious freedom and morals are placed in harm's way, we have an obligation as Catholics to stand up for our faith and Church.  Through administrative edict, President Obama has encroached on our religious freedoms and conscience with the recently enacted "reproductive services" mandate.

Pregnancy is NOT a disease, it is a blessing--therefore, reproductive services does not equate to healthcare.  We cannot sit by and allow ANY government to dictate to our Church that it must serve as an idle accomplice to the murder of innocent children.  Religious institutions of all faiths are under attack.

I also urge you to vote in November's election for those representatives who protect and preserve our religious freedoms, for it is our duty as Catholics.  See this impressive video to see how solemn our duty is and the weight of consequences of this upcoming election.

Remember to contact your Senators and Representatives urging them restore the conscience clause for people of faith and religious institutions, including hospitals, orphanages, and insurance organizations.  May God bless you and the United States of America.  Please click here for a special prayer for our Country during the time of persecution and attack on the our faith.

Fraternally,

Jim Acerra, Grand Knight

Who We Are

4th Degree KnightsThe Knights of Columbus Council 1349, a fraternal organization, which is located in San Diego, California, is one of the longest running councils in the state. In 2008, we celebrated 100 years of service. Knights from our roundtable of churches make up our council's membership. We are an active and vibrant Council, always looking to support the Church, the community, and its clergy.

What We Do

KofC 3rd Degree LogoWe are a non-profit organization comprised of practical Catholic gentlemen, who perform a variety of community and charity activities. These activities include, but are not limited to volunteer services, charitable donations, church support, support for vocations, scholarships, Columbian Squires (our Youth organization), and College Councils. Pope Benedict XVI once described the Knights of Columbus as the "fighting arm" of the Church, in that we defend our faith, Church, and religious (e.g., priests, brothers, nuns, and deacons). Most importantly, we work to change lives and save lives.

Membership in the Knights

The principles of our Order are: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.  If you wish to change and save lives, then the Knights of Columbus and Council 1349 are is the organization for you.  We are always looking for practicing Catholic gentlemen to join us.
